THE WAIT

The past they say hunts you down. But to get someone who overlooks all the past and says, ''Hey you deserve another shot'', has always been a one in a million event. We met in the weirdest of ways but we have grown to become the best of friends. If anyone had told me things would have grown this fast between us, I wouldn't have believed.

Today I stare at your pictures and I can literally smell you. ''Am I getting mad?'', I ask myself. Maybe, no; probably yes. But if I would go mad because of the person who although I needed a new start due to my past transgressions, yet believed in me, then I wouldn't think twice about it. I guess the light I see in her is what she sees in me.

We are taking things slow, not rushing a thing; trusting Your timing, not pushing when we need to pull--step by step, growth by growth--not  missing even a single nano-detail of the process.

Am I mad to wait till you are ready?  For I don't know how long this may take. Maybe days, maybe weeks, maybe months, maybe years! Probably, my friends are right that I'm wasting my time. But I still stand firm to my ground. A stance that says, ''I'm going to wait till whenever''.

How sad it is when you are the only one who sees the dream. The only one who feels the reality hit virtually at night when you begin to ponder over things. A driving force that you are the only object that feels it. A force that keeps you going even when you are weary. A force that stands you up when you fall.

Even the deepest of wounds cannot hold you back, nor can the strongest of winds pull you back. Eyes on the prize, all energies invested into achieving it. Cos after all, the people who never believed in you, those who probably thought you were a fool; those who thought you were wasting your time will one day get disappointed in not trying to share in the vision you had. The dream that made you defy the odds.

At a point in time they can only congratulate you but can't feel the same level of happiness you'll feel because they weren't part of the success story.

A vacation to Bahamas with the kids? Hell yes!, I'm gonna make your dream vacation a reality. Hiking on the mountains? Why not? I'm all in, my beloved. It's funny how I'm afraid of heights but I wouldn't mind jumping off the mountain top just because of you.

Cos even if I fall, I know you will catch me with your angelic wings. Isn't it amazing how the very people who take your breath away are the very persons you can't live without ?

Melanin so sweet, I've never seen one as dark and beautiful as you are. You are so perfect in your making; with a sweet-soothing voice attached to it. You have the smile of a million stars.

I don't know what exactly the future holds for us. The probability that we will end up together is as equally likely as the probability that we won't end up together. I've lived much of my life focusing on the negativity of events, but today I'm making a decision to be on the side of positivity; that come what may, we shall end up as one beautiful family.

So I say, yes, you are worth the wait. Cos for once, my mind and my heart are in synchronism on this very thing, that yes, we shall have that future I've always wished for us. A future where a seed planted grows some roots, branches and leaves to become a tree of life till our nights are filled with peace from stress and strife; and that's the blessing I will get from wifing you. A seed we shall call THE WAIT.

Non-stick is often used to refer to surfaces coated with Polytetrafluroethylene (PTFE),  but in the 21st century other coatings have been marked as non-stick, such as anodized aluminum,  ceramics, cast iron, carbon steel and many others. Cast iron, carbon steel, cast aluminium and steel cookware may be seasoned by applying fat to the surface and heating to polymerize the fat. This produces a dry hard smooth, hydrophobic coating, which is non-stick when food is in it. Polytetrafluroethylene is a synthetic fluoropolymer or tetrafluoroethylene that has numerous applications.
